Stephen Trigg represents clients in a wide variety of civil litigation matters in both state and federal courts across the country, including cases involving complex commercial disputes, catastrophic personal injuries, products liability, consumer protection laws, and disputes between shareholders and members of closely-held businesses. His experience includes regularly representing defendants in professional malpractice actions against doctors, chiropractors, dentists, podiatrists, and nursing homes. Mr. Trigg was selected as a Wisconsin Rising Star by Super Lawyers magazine in 2018, 2019, and 2020.
Prior to joining Gass Turek, Mr. Trigg practiced with Paul Hastings LLP in New York City. At that firm, he represented multiple companies and their boards of directors in shareholder disputes alleging breaches of fiduciary duties and securities law violations. He also represented some of the world’s biggest financial institutions in litigation resulting from the credit crisis.
Mr. Trigg is admitted to practice in New York and Wisconsin, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin, and the Federal Court of Appeal for the Seventh Circuit.
Mr. Trigg obtained his undergraduate degree cum laude from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and his law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he graduated magna cum laude and was a member of the Order of the Coif. While at Minnesota, Mr. Trigg was a member of the Journal of International Law and worked as a student attorney at the Multi-Profession Business Law Clinic. In the clinic, he counseled clients on business formation and incorporation issues and drafted form contracts for new businesses.
